Hyderabad: The one-and-half-year-old toddler who was kidnapped from his mother while sleeping on the footpath at Chaderghat and later rescued by Hyderabad police, has now tested positive for coronavirus. The child’s samples were collected after he was rescued from the kidnapper two days ago and the results have come out positive today.

The child’s mother and two home guards who were involved in the rescue operation are identified as primary contacts and shifted to quarantine. Sleuths of the Task Force team of East Zone who investigated the case and traced the child, were also advised to go on home quarantine.

It was found that the kidnapper Ibrahim, who is now lodged at Chanchalguda central prison will also be moved to a quarantine center.

It may be recalled that the toddler was kidnapped from a footpath in Chaderghat three days back. The child was handed over to his mother and the kidnapper was sent to remand.
