Kishan Reddy requests KCR to allot land for TS Liberation Movement Inspiration Center

New Delhi: The Union minister of state for Home Affairs, G. Kishan Reddy, on 13 September, requested Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to allot land in Hyderabad for the construction of the Telangana Liberation Movement Inspiration/Motivation Center.

Union tourism minister Prahlad Singh Patel will provide financial assistance to set up the centre, Mr. Reddy wrote in a letter to KCR. “I met the Union tourism minister recently and explained the peoples’ struggle to liberate Hyderabad region from the clutches of tyrannical Nizam rule and his private army of Razakars and how they collectively ensured its merger with the Indian Union,” he wrote.

Mr. Reddy said that the valour and courage shown by the people of Telangana against the draconian Nizam is one of the momentous episodes in the history of Indian freedom struggle. In his letter, the minister said that the proposed center would document the struggle and the contribution of the people and depict all the important episodes during the Telangana Liberation Movement in a manner that would make the younger generations realise the significance of the movement and the sacrifice of the leaders and inspire them.

The Union government will bear all the expenses for the construction of the Center, provided the Telangana government gives land for the same, Mr. Reddy added.
