Telangana Cops  son tested  Covid-19 +Ve, 22 contact persons quarantined

Warangal: Son of Deputy Superintendent of Police currently posted at Kothagudem in Bhadradri Kothagudem district, has been tested positive for Coronavirus. The news broke on Sunday while the patient was moved to Gandhi Hospital.

The 23-year-old has reportedly returned from London on March 18 and was shifted to Gandhi Hospital on March 20, after he developed symptoms. A video of patient being shifted to Hospital went viral, however all astonished many was a gun-man of the senior cop sans any prevention measures was seen lending a helping hand. Netiziens criticized the cop for taking help of the gun man while the family stayed away.

Meanwhile, The medical officials are now identifying the people who came in contact with the DSPā€™s son. Officials said 22 people including the DSPā€™s family, relatives, his gunmen, workers with whom he has been in contact have been shifted to the Gandhi Hospital in Hyderabad for isolation.

It is to note that, the patient tested COVID-19 positive returned on March 18th however did not complete the mandatory quarantine period which was imposed.The patient moved from the airport to his residence exposing himself to the family, resulting in 22 of them now put under quarantined.

Three new corona cases confirmed in Telangana, total rises to 30

Telangana has confirmed three new cases of COVID-19 on March 23. In a statement released by the Director of Public Health and Family Welfare, the total number of confirmed corona-positive cases has reached 30 in the state, as of now.

While two of the three new patients have a foreign travel history, the most recent case had maintained contact with the group from Indonesia, according to health officials.

All the three cases have been admitted in Gandhi hospital, one of the nodal centres for coronavirus in the state.

The three new patients include a 21-year-old man who had returned from France, a 30-yesr-old man who had returned from London and a 23-year-old man who was in contact with the group from Indonesia.
