Krishna Vamsi announces Rangamarthanda and collaboration with Ilayaraja

How many of you remember Krishna Vamsi’s Antahpuram, which released in 1998? The film had Sai Kumar, Prakash Raj and late actress Soundarya in lead roles. Apart from the raw and rustic story and screenplay, there is one more thing that makes the film a masterpiece even now, and that is nothing else but the music composed by maestro Ilayaraja.

So once again, to recreate the magic together, Krishna Vamsi, Ilayaraja and Prakash Raj have teamed up. The trio has joined hands for Rangamarthanda, director Krishna Vamsi’s upcoming film.

After a disaster like Nakshatram, Krishna Vamsi has taken a break of two long years, and finally, came up with the script of Rangamarthanda. The director shared a post on Facebook announcing the completion of the film’s script and that it will go to floors.

Rangamarthanda is a remake of Marathi film Natsamrat, which has Nana Patekar and Medha Manjrekar in lead roles. For the Telugu version, Prakash Raj and Ramya Krishnan have been roped in to play the lead roles. Abhishek Jawkar and Madhu Kalipu will produce the film.

To compose music for this film, Krishna Vamsi has collaborated with Ilayaraja once again, almost after two decades. The director and Prakash Raj visited Ilayaraja in Chennai, spend some time with the legend and clicked photographs with him to announce their collaboration. Krishna Vamsi and Prakash Raj have been friends for a long time and seeing them work together is delightful.

Rangamarthanda has been pending for some time, and finally, it is all set to go to floors. Except for the details mentioned above, nothing else about the film has been revealed. Besides, fans of Krishna Vamsi, who is popularly called a creative director, are hoping to see a better movie than Nakshatram.
