KTR flags off Hyderabad Metro rail services from Hi-Tech city to Raidurg
By Anurag Mallick Published on 29 Nov 2019 6:15 AM GMTHyderabad: The Hyderabad Metro rail reached yet another milestone as it resumed its single stop services from Hi-Tech city to Raidurg at 10:00 am on Friday as Minister for MA&UA, Industries, IT&C, KT. Rama Rao flagged off metro rail services from Hitech city- Raidurg.
The single stop services from Hi-Tech city to Raidurg takes around 10-15 mins by road whereas it takes only 2.5 mins by Metro, which saves approximately 10 mins of a daily passenger.
Today also marks two years since the Hyderabad metro rail began it services all-over Hyderabad at 48 different stations. In its two years of service, over 125 million passengers used the Hyderabad metro rail as India's second-largest metro network.
The Hyderabad metro rail is India's second-largest metro rail network covering 56kms all over the state which is only next to Delhi. On average, about 4 lakh passengers travel by Hyderabad metro rail daily. A distance of 18000 km is covered daily with 780 trips. A total distance of 86 lakh km (8.6 million) has been covered in the last two years of its service all over the city with a total of 4.1 lakh trips with a punctuality rate of 99.8%.
A total of 14 lakh metro smart cards have been sold in the last two years.
Hyderabad metro rail is also adjudged as the best metro rail in the world in terms of passenger satisfaction by Global Public transport operator, M/s. Keolis.
