Leading industrialist and politician Palam Srikanth Reddy succumbs to Covid
By Newsmeter Network Published on 12 Aug 2020 3:04 PM GMTHyderabad: Popular industrialist, politician, and film producer Palam Srikanth Reddy succumbed to Covid-19 on Wednesday, August 12th. He was the Managing Director and Chairperson of Palred Technologies.
He had previously contested as a candidate from Telugu Desam Party in the Kadapa district of Andhra Pradesh, against the acclaimed Congress leader YS Rajasekhara Reddy in 2009.
He had done his schooling from Hyderabad Public School and had gone on to do a bachelors in engineering from the University of Madras. Post, he also obtained a masters degree in industrial engineering from Stanford University, USA.
In January 2014, he launched his own political party Jana Palana. While he contested the 2019 electoral polls, he failed to score a single seat.
The IT and BPO businesses of his previous venture, Four Soft, were sold to UK-based firm in 2013. Reddy was a big name in the software industry.
The company he presently ran, Palred Technologies Limited, was known for providing IT solutions and services for entertainment and media ventures to its clients in Singapore, London, USA, Thailand, and India, among others.
The total tally of Covid-19 positive cases in Telangana climbed to 84,544 on 11th August. 1,897 more people tested positive for the virus on the day, says the data released by the Department of Public Health and Family Welfare. A total of 9 people succumbed to the virus on the day, taking the fatality rate of COVID in the state to 0.77 per cent. Altogether, 654 citizens have succumbed to the virus. The fatality rate in the state is lower than the national average of 1.99 per cent.
