Legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar's health stable
By Priyanka Kanoj Published on 12 Nov 2019 7:10 AM GMTHyderabad: India's singing icon Lata Mangeshkar was admitted to the intensive care unit of Mumbai's Breach Candy Hospital early on Monday after her condition deteriorated following a chest infection.
As per reports from Mumbai, Lata Mangeshkar was taken to the hospital after she complained of difficulty in breathing. "She had a viral chest infection. Keeping her age in mind as a precautionary measure, we took her to the hospital. The doctors are treating her to ensure antibiotics on time to prevent any more infection. She is stable and recovering," one of her team members told the media.
It was being reported that the singing legend had pneumonia along with a left ventricular failure. Her critical condition seems to be resolved now. It was informed that she is responding to the treatment and doctors believe she will recover in a matter of days.
Sister Usha Mangeshkar said the legendary singer is on the 'road to recovery'. "We are informed that Lata Di was kept under a ventilator to which she is responding well. She is recovering and the doctors have informed that she would get discharged soon," said Usha Mangeshkar.
The 90-year-old singer is the recipient of several prestigious awards, including the Bharat Ratna, Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Dadasaheb Phalke Award. She is one of the iconic playback singers who is remembered as the 'Nightingale' of Indian cinema.
