Hyderabad: Telangana government today announced that the Rapido Hyderabad Heritage Run will be held in the city on February 22.

Nearly 5000 runners will join the marathon, which is aimed at showcasing a unique blend of fitness, culture, and civic pride of the city.

The event, a joint initiative between the Telangana Tourism Department and Rapido, India’s leading mobility platform, aims to celebrate the capital city’s historical legacy. The marathon will take participants through routes featuring Hyderabad’s most culturally significant landmarks, transforming the city’s streets into a living museum.

Promoting Wellness and History The initiative seeks to encourage residents and tourists alike to engage with the city’s past while promoting a healthy lifestyle. Speaking at the announcement, Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary (Department of Youth Advancement, Tourism & Culture), emphasized that the city’s heritage extends beyond its monuments.

“Hyderabad’s heritage lives in its streets, neighborhoods, and people,” Ranjan said. “This run offers citizens an opportunity to reconnect with the city while promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.”

Valluri Kranti, Managing Director of TGTDC, echoed these sentiments, noting that the partnership with Rapido would help "spotlight Hyderabad’s timeless heritage while fostering wellness and unity among our diverse communities."
