Hyderabad: From women-led cafĆ©s to manga-inspired restaurants and authentic Chinese eateries, Hyderabadā€™s food scene is expanding in exciting ways. These establishments are not just places to eat but are destinations that offer immersive experiences, showcasing diverse flavours and innovative themes.

This article explores three such establishmentsā€”Queens & Beans, YouMee, and Chowmanā€”each bringing a fresh perspective to the cityā€™s gastronomic landscape, promising to delight food lovers with their distinctive offerings and atmospheres.

Queens & Beans: A tribute to womenā€™s culinary excellence

Queens & Beans in Gachibowli is a new cafĆ© entirely run by women, embodying a celebration of womenā€™s creativity and nurturing spirit.

This unique coffee haven offers a warm, inviting atmosphere, inspired by the comfort of a motherā€™s kitchen. The cafĆ©'s all-women team, from chefs and baristas to every other role, brings a personal touch to every dish and beverage.

The menu at Queens & Beans is known for its inventive fusion of flavours, drawing from diverse culinary traditions. The cafĆ©ā€™s standout offerings include the Tender Coconut Latte, which combines coconut cream and espresso for a refreshing twist, and the Moroccan Coffee, which merges spiced milk with espresso, echoing the complex flavours of biryani. For dessert lovers, the Callebaut Mocha is a chocolate-infused delight.

The cafĆ©ā€™s dĆ©cor also pays homage to the versatility and strength of women, featuring bamboo elements symbolising resilience and sustainability. Signature dishes like the achari-flavoured Grilled Pineapple, Smoky Cajun n Orange Wings, and the Kizhi Mutton Parotta showcase the cafĆ©ā€™s innovative approach to fusion cuisine.

YouMee: A manga-inspired culinary adventure

For a thematic dining experience, YouMee in Hyderabadā€™s Nexus Mall transports guests to the world of Japanese manga. The restaurantā€™s walls are adorned with vibrant manga characters, creating a visually engaging environment complemented by contemporary Asian dĆ©cor.

The beverage selection at YouMee includes a variety of hot chocolates, milkshakes, cold-pressed juices and mocktails. The Asian Swirl mocktail, an orange-based drink with kaffir lime and Japanese citrus, provides a refreshing start to the meal. Notable dishes include the Yasai Tempura Roll, which surprises with its crispy vegetable tempura topped with spicy mayo, and the Crunchy Chicken Dumpling, featuring a perfect blend of umami flavours and chilli oil.

The highlight of the menu is the YouMee Signature Ramen, a hearty bowl featuring grilled chicken, prawn, calamari, and miso ginger broth. Complementing the meal, the Hibachi Fried Rice offers a delicious mix of vegetables, soy and butter.

As Rohit Aggarwal, co-founder and managing director of Lite Bite Foods, noted, ā€œOur team has put a lot of effort into crafting a menu that caters to a wide range of tastes and preferences.ā€ The meal can be concluded with their iconic Dorayaki Pancakes, filled with cream cheese and caramel, priced at Rs 2,000 for two.

Chowman: A journey into authentic Chinese seafood

Chowman, located in Kukatpally, offers a dive into authentic Chinese cuisine, diverging from the Indian-Chinese fusion typically found in India. The restaurantā€™s traditional Chinese dĆ©cor sets a regal tone, with red walls and elegant furnishings.

Chowmanā€™s menu currently features an Oriental Seafood Festival, highlighting dishes such as the Lemon Coriander Seafood Soup with octopus, prawns, and squid. The Honey Walnut Shrimp appetizer balances sweetness with a nutty aftertaste, while the Stir-Fried Squid with Seasonal Vegetables maintains subtle, clean flavours.

For the main course, dishes like the Hot Pot Hunan Fantasy and Butter Garlic Seafood Noodles provide a rich, flavourful experience.

Debaditya Chaudhury, managing director of Chowman Hospitality Pvt Ltd, shared, ā€œWe know how passionate Hyderabadi foodies are about their seafood, and as a food entrepreneur, I am excited to bring joy to peopleā€™s hearts.ā€

With prices at Rs 1,100 for two, Chowman offers a delightful exploration of Chinese seafood cuisine.

These eateries in Hyderabad not only offer exceptional food but also provide thematic dining experiences that engage all the senses, inviting food lovers to explore new culinary worlds.
