Who is Mounica Boppana?

Mounica’s journey has been marked by exploration, resilience and artistic growth.

Born and raised in Vijayawada, she completed her graduation from Andhra Loyola College before launching a successful career with Wipro, working in both Chennai and Hyderabad. Eventually, she returned home to Vijayawada, where she took on a role as a manager with APNRT Society, a non-profit organisation serving NRIs and backed by the Andhra Pradesh government.

During this time, she married her supportive husband, Pavan, and life felt as though it was right on track.

Then came a turning point. With a new baby at home, Mounica decided to leave her corporate role when her company relocated to Hyderabad.

This pause in her career allowed her the time to reconnect with her love for art and craft, an interest she had often dabbled in, even after a busy workday. She began revisiting old hobbies like bottle painting and creating DIY home decor.

Soon, her curiosity led her to candle-making, a craft she had long admired but never fully explored. After some research, she immersed herself in online workshops, experimenting with different wax types and techniques.

Love for candles

Starting as a creative pastime, her candle-making quickly evolved into a passion and her homemade candles brightened her own space. She began sharing them as gifts for friends and family, which sparked an idea—why not turn this into a business?
