Fast foods, Ice creams, packed meals: Andhra's rail coach restaurant new go-to place for foodies

Visakhapatnam: Train commuters will now have a unique and pleasant dining experience at the coach restaurant in the Waltair division. Waltair division authorities have modified the AC coach and converted it into a restaurant.

This is the first of its kind in the East Coast Railway jurisdiction and the second in the state.

Divisional Railway Manager Anup Satpathy said they had conceptualized the innovative idea to provide a premium experience to rail commuters by utilizing an old unserviceable AC coach. This restaurant not only provides hygienic and quality food to rail commuters 24X7 but also generates additional revenue for the Railways.

Passengers will get a premium dining experience in this multi-cuisine air-conditioned restaurant with hygienic and quality food available at low rates. These services shall be offered round the clock for the convenience of railway travelers. The license for the coach restaurant is given for 5 years.
