According to the `Tajmeeli' study, the demand soared in 2022 as warm weather sees fragrances fading more quickly.
India ranks 8th on the global list of increased interest in searches for long-lasting fragrances. UAE takes the top spot.
The study also showed that many are confused about how to apply perfume. Google searches reveal there are on average 3,600 searches per month for 'how to apply perfume'; that's 43,200 look-ups per year!
On average, there are 6,400 searches each month for 'how long does perfume last', while 5,900 people question 'how to make a perfume last longer.
As per the study, collectively, there are 147,600 searches for 'how long does perfume last' and 'how to make a perfume last longer' globally every year. It also shows that Interest in long-lasting perfume reaches its peak in the summer season.
The data also points out to top 10 places for 'long-lasting perfumes' searches in 2022. The United Arab Emirates, Pakistan, and Singapore have the highest interest in long-lasting fragrances.
India stands in the 8th position.
Experts at Tajmeeli said fragrances do not last as long as summer. This is because the alcohol in the perfume will evaporate faster than usual at high temperatures.
However, the fragrance lasts longer on moisturized skin, as it gives the fragrance something to stick to so it is less likely to fade.
"Before you spritz, make sure you apply a light moisturizer to your wrists and neck. You can either apply an unscented moisturizer to avoid it conflicting with your fragrance's scent or apply a lotion with the same scent as your fragrance, which helps to build up the perfume.
