Hyderabad: Ganesh Aagaman celebrations have kicked off in both Telugu states.
This marks the beginning of one of India’s biggest religious festivals.
For those unaware of this emerging trend, a quick scroll on Instagram is enough—vloggers, influencers, and cultural groups are flooding feeds with colorful reels showcasing the ceremonial arrival of Lord Ganesha ahead of Ganesh Chaturthi.
What is Ganesh Aagaman?
It signifies the auspicious day when devotees bring home Ganapati idols through rituals, music, dhol–tasha, and lively processions filled with dance. Homes, streets, and pandals (temporary setups) are decorated to welcome Lord Ganesha with grandeur.
The arrival is viewed as inviting Vighnaharta—the remover of obstacles—into homes and communities, symbolizing prosperity, joy, and fresh beginnings.
The New Festive Trend:
The festival is no longer confined only to idol immersion. Social media has sparked a cultural shift, inspiring people to celebrate the aagaman (arrival) with as much energy as the farewell. The processions—complete with dhol–tasha, dance, and decorations—have now become the most vibrant highlight of Ganesh Chaturthi.
On Instagram, YouTube, and reels, the welcoming of Ganpati Bappa is showcased through trending songs, creative edits, and aesthetic videos. Popular hashtags like #GaneshAagman, #GanpatiBappaMorya, and #GaneshChaturthi2025 go viral this year. The drone shots, amazing fireworks, and vibes will definitely give you goosebumps.
Housing societies, neighborhoods, and local mandals now compete to host the most elaborate Ganesh Aagaman. The celebrations foster unity, creativity in decoration, and deep devotion. Youngsters especially look forward to the music, dance, and artistic decoration competitions that are organized as part of the event.
Speaking to NewsMeter, a Hyderabad organiser said, “This concept originates from Mumbai, where Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated in its grandest form. This year, most pandals in Hyderabad embraced Ganesh Aagaman with great pomp. Out of love and devotion for Lord Ganesha, we try to give our very best.”
In Visakhapatnam, organisers have introduced the Ganesh Aagaman concept for the very first time this year—celebrating with drone shots, fireworks, and festive music to welcome the deity in style.
