Hyderabad: The fourteenth edition of the Hyderabad Literary Festival is all set to kick off on January 26 at Sattva Knowledge City.
With over two hundred participants, the free event embraces literature, culture, and art, featuring new streams like indigenous languages, climate conversations, and science in the city.
Directors Amita Desai and Vijay Kumar express excitement about dedicated streams for science and climate discussions, emphasizing deeper engagement. The festival spotlights 'Odia' as the 'Indian Language in Focus' and designates Norway as the 'Country in Focus' for 2024.
The event encompasses 15 diverse streams, including documentaries, workshops, book launches, storytelling, and more. Notable speakers like Sashi Tharoor, Krish Ashok, and Adivi Sesh will grace the festival.
A commendable initiative is the inclusion of indigenous languages, featuring poets, storytellers, and artists celebrating India's linguistic diversity. Additionally, the festival promotes inclusivity with workshops on 3D tactile painting for the visually challenged and innovative theater projects involving the Drama Association of Deaf and Queer-Trans Wellness & Support Center.
Local stories find expression through art exhibitions curated by Amshu Chukki, showcasing works by students from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The Indian Photo Festival offers a sneak peek within a specially curated bus at the venue.
The festival's collaboration with the Hyderabad Metro and SVIDA provides a free shuttle service from the Raidurg metro station every 15 minutes. For a detailed schedule, attendees can refer to the festival's official website.
