Hyderabad: Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation to host conversation evening with Suhasini Maniratnam and Mohammed Ali Baig on Aug 3
Hyderabad: Qadir Ali Baig Theatre Foundation is set to host a special evening of conversation with acclaimed actor Suhasini Maniratnam and theatre revivalist Mohammad Ali Baig at Radisson Blu Plaza on Sunday.
The event is part of the `Remembering Razia Baigā series, which was launched earlier this year to spotlight women in the performing arts who have made significant contributions in their fields.
The series began with Ila Arun and her biographical performance Pardey ke Peeche, followed by Sohail Kapurās Anand Hi Anand, which drew from the life of her uncle, Bollywood legend Dev Anand. Last month featured Rashmi Seth sharing memories of her time working on Aadhey Adhure, a landmark production by the late Qadir Ali Baig.
Celebrating a Cross-Language Cinematic Legacy
The upcoming session will feature Suhasini Maniratnam, known for her extensive work in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada cinema. She will be in conversation with Mohammad Ali Baig, Padma Shri awardee and one of Indiaās leading theatre revivalists. The evening will cover Suhasiniās personal and professional journey, from her schooling in Tamil Naduās Paramakudi village to international recognition at film festivals in Cannes and Belarus.
With over 350 films to her credit, Suhasini has received Best Actress awards in four languages and holds seven Filmfare Awards. Her work spans acting, writing, producing, and directing, along with running her own film production company.

A Growing Cultural Movement
Organisers say the Remembering Razia Baig series has gained considerable traction over the past few months, with each session drawing full-house audiences. The initiative aims to preserve and celebrate the cultural legacy of Hyderabad and highlight the contributions of women in Indian performance history.
