Hyderabad: From opulent settings to cosy cafes, Hyderabad’s growing dining scene has something for every occasion. Here’s a look at the three new standout eateries in the city offering unique culinary experiences and ambiance.
KOKO: Luxury Asian Dining
Located in Hitec City, KOKO is a luxurious Asian restaurant known for its striking interiors and decadent menu. The dramatic crimson archway and origami-inspired light fixtures transport diners to an otherworldly ambience. The emerald-green marbled bar stands out, offering an inviting space to enjoy signature cocktails.
For private gatherings, the KOKO Suite is an experience in itself, featuring a hand-painted Chinese-inspired dome mural, a grand dining table and a dedicated bar.
There is a vast selection of dim sums, including the Truffle, Water Chestnut, and Sweet Pea Dumplings, described as ‘creamy and comforting.’ The Lobster & Caviar Dumpling is recommended for seafood lovers and is rich in umami flavours. The dim sums can be paired with the Agave Nest, a cocktail featuring Mescal, Umeshu and Bianco Vermouth, served with a white chocolate egg filled with mango-based sauce for added zest.
Small plates like the Lantern Chicken will impress with their versatility. For mains, the Ho Fan noodles, tossed with bell peppers and onions, will prove to be a hearty choice.
Dessert is a visual treat with The Forbidden Fruit, an orange-shaped dessert filled with pistachio sable, orange mousse and candied orange. At approximately Rs 3,500 for two, KOKO is perfect for special celebrations.
Barefoot Café: A Cozy Outdoor Experience
Nestled in a 30-year-old duplex in Banjara Hills, Barefoot Café offers a mix of al fresco and indoor dining. The outdoor space features lush greenery and concrete seating, while the indoor section is adorned with vintage artefacts, including a 90s cassette holder.
The menu focuses on comfort food.
The Thai Roasted Paneer, tossed in Asian spices, paired well with the Orange Frioska, a cooler made with orange, mint and pomegranate. Alfredo Penne, generously garnished with Parmesan, is a highlight.
For those who prefer rice dishes, the Stir-Fried Rice with julienned bell peppers and spices offered a wholesome option. The Blueberry Cheesecake will awe with its soft texture and balanced sweetness. With meals priced around Rs 1,000 for two, Barefoot Café is ideal for casual yet memorable outings.
Ciao Italiano: A Slice of Italy in Jubilee Hills
Ciao Italiano, tucked away in Jubilee Hills, brings a touch of Italian countryside charm. Rustic brick walls, lush greenery and an outdoor setting create a calming ambience. The indoor space features art made from industrial waste and quirky vintage pieces.
The newly revamped menu includes the Bruschetta, topped with pesto, tomato and mozzarella. The Big Italian Salad, with baked baby potatoes and creamy dressing, satisfied those seeking a hearty, healthy meal.
A standout dish is the Panzo, a deep-fried pizza pocket stuffed with cheese, tomato sauce and other fillings. The Margherita Panzo, in particular, is a hit for its crunch and flavour.
The handmade Carbonara Spaghetti, featuring bits of bacon, stands out for its depth of flavour. For pizza enthusiasts, the Piomonte with roasted mushrooms and mozzarella is a must-try. Ending the meal, the Tiramisu offers a mildly sweet conclusion. Meals are priced at Rs 1,000 for two.
Hyderabad’s culinary landscape continues to evolve with diverse options catering to different moods and occasions. Whether you’re celebrating a milestone, enjoying a casual meal or craving authentic Italian flavours, these spots promise memorable dining experiences.
