Mangalagiri skater prodigy Jessy Raj Mathrapu chosen for PM National Child Award

Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday congratulated Jessy Raj. She will receive the award from President Droupadi Murmu.
āIt is a moment of immense pride for Andhra Pradesh that Mangalagiriās talented skater, Jessy Raj Mathrapu, has been chosen for the Prime Ministerās National Child Award 2025 in recognition of her outstanding achievements in sports,ā said Naidu in a post on X.
Mathrapu started her journey as a skater when she was just nine years old and her dedication brought great honour to the southern state and also inspired other young athletes.
Jessy Raj bags silver at National Roller Skating Championships
Recently, Jessy Raj has added another medal to her collection by winning a silver medal in the Solo Dance category in the 62nd National Roller Skating Championships, held at Pollachi in Tamil Nadu from December 5 to 10. More than a thousand athletes from across the country participated in the competition, where Jessy Raj represented Andhra Pradesh in the 14-17 age category. She has been receiving training for various competitions at the Victory Skating Association in Mangalagiri for the past few years. Jessy Raj has so far received 50 medals, including the latest.
When just 11 years old, Jessy debuted at the national level, astounding audiences and competitors with her flawless performances. She clinched top positions consecutively, earning medals at the 59th national-level competitions held in 2021, 2022 and 2023. These victories highlighted her exceptional skill and dedication to the sport.
