Hyderabad: Telangana is set to host the 72nd Miss World pageant from May 7 to 31, 2025, marking an opportunity for the State to showcase its heritage, tourism and economic potential. The contestants will take part in a carefully curated itinerary that highlights Telangana’s culture, history and modern infrastructure.
Here’s a detailed look at the scheduled activities and the places they will visit:
1. Arrival and Grand Welcome at RGIA
Location: Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Hyderabad
Date: May 6-7
Miss World contestants from 140 countries will land at RGIA, where they will receive a traditional welcome. The airport, known for its efficiency and global connectivity, will be the first glimpse of Telangana’s hospitality.
2. Opening Ceremony at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium
Location: Hyderabad
Date: May 10
The event will officially begin with a ceremony featuring Telangana’s folk and tribal dance performances. Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, a key venue for major international sporting and cultural events, will host this grand gathering.
3. Buddhist Spiritual Tour at Buddhavanam
Location: Nagarjunasagar
Date: May 12
Contestants from Asia and Oceania will explore Buddhavanam, a Buddhist theme park in Nagarjunasagar. The site showcases the rich Buddhist history of Telangana with stupas, sculptures and educational exhibits.
4. Hyderabad Heritage Walk at Charminar and Laad Bazaar
Location: Old Hyderabad

A heritage walk will take contestants through Charminar, one of Hyderabad’s most iconic landmarks, and Laad Bazaar, a historic market known for its bangles, pearls, and traditional Hyderabadi goods.
5. Welcome Dinner at Chowmahalla Palace

Chowmahalla Palace, once the seat of the Nizams, will host a welcome dinner with a live musical concert. This historic palace offers a glimpse into Hyderabad’s royal past.
6. Student & Community Interaction at Kaloji Kala Kshethram

Contestants from the Americas and the Caribbean will visit Kaloji Kala Kshethram, a cultural centre in Warangal, to interact with students and local communities.
7. Kakatiya Heritage Tour at Ramappa Temple
Location: Mulugu district
Date: May 14
Ramappa Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, will be a highlight of the tour. Known for its intricate Kakatiya-era architecture, the temple features exquisite sculptures and floating bricks. A Perini dance performance will take place here.
8. Spiritual Tour at Yadagirigutta Temple
Location: Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri district
Date: May 15
Contestants from Europe will visit the Yadagirigutta Temple, dedicated to Lord Lakshmi Narasimha. This temple is an important pilgrimage site with recent renovations enhancing its grandeur.
9. Handloom Experiential Tour at Pochampally

Recognised by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), Pochampally is known for its Ikat weaving tradition. Contestants will witness artisans at work and learn about Telangana’s handloom heritage.
10. Medical Tourism Showcase at Leading Hospitals
Location: Hyderabad

Contestants from Africa and the Middle East will visit Hyderabad’s top hospitals—Apollo, AIG, and Yashoda—to understand why the city is a leading destination for affordable and advanced healthcare.
11. Miss World Sports Finale at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium
Location: Hyderabad
Date: May 17
A sports finale will take place at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, featuring athletic challenges for contestants, reinforcing the pageant’s emphasis on fitness and well-being.
12. Cultural Sundowner at Experium Eco Tourism Park

A cultural event featuring Telangana’s music, dance, and cuisine will be held at Experium Eco Tourism Park, known for its eco-friendly design and nature-based attractions.
13. Visit to Telangana Police Integrated Command & Control Centre

Contestants will visit TGICCC to learn about Telangana’s advanced security measures and smart policing initiatives, reinforcing its reputation as a safe destination for tourists.
14. Visit to Secretariat and Ambedkar Statue

The contestants will tour the Secretariat, Tank Bund, and the recently inaugurated 125-foot Ambedkar statue, which highlights Telangana’s commitment to social justice.
15. Continental Finale at T-Hub
