Chiranjeevi, was finally solved after the police found his body buried in the backyard of his own home at Cherukupalle in Guntur district, Andhra Pradesh.
Chiranjeevi was murdered by his live-in-partner and her paramour on 6 May and his body was buried near his residence and covered with cement, the police said.
Chiranjeevi's father had filed a complaint claiming that his son had been missing for the past two months. During the investigation, the police found that Chiranjeevi had been married to a woman around a decade ago. However, he had separated from his wife following some disputes. He was asked to pay her Rs. 15 lakh at the time of their separation. Chiranjeevi paid Rs. 5 lakh and had promised to pay the remaining amount in the coming years.
Meanwhile, he had been living with a 23-year-old woman, Sirisha Cherukupalle, for the past few years. They also had a child. But Sirisha was not happy with Chiranjeevi and said he harassed her for petty issues. She was having an affair with the 20-year-old Bhanu Prakash who often visited their home and helped Chiranjeevi. Recently, the latter had sold his property for Rs. 12 lakh and the money was kept in the house.
Sirisha and Bhanu Prakash decided to kill Chiranjeevi and steal the money. On 6 May, they killed the man and buried his body in the backyard.
Recently, the police came to know that Sirisha had married another man. They interrogated Sirisha who told them the truth. The police exhumed Chiranjeevi's body and an investigation is underway.
