Madrasa teacher sentenced to 10-yr imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor
By Dheeshma Published on 23 Jun 2020 11:03 AM GMTHyderabad: A special court in Hyderabad that deals with POCSO cases on Monday, June 23, sentenced a madrasa teacher to 10-year life imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor boy. The court also slapped a fine of Rs 2000 on the teacher.
According to the case details, on November 9, 2015, the accused, Muneer, who used to teach Arabic to the victim at Shahās Memorial School in Hyderabad invited the boy to his house during school hours on the pretext of bringing some Arabic books from his house to the school.
However, according to the boy's father, who is the complainant, the accused exploited the situation and sexually assaulted the minor boy, who was 12 years old at the time of the incident.
After committing the crime, the teacher dropped the boy at the school. The incident came to light the next day when the boy complained of pain at his private parts to his father. Following this, the boyās father registered a case against the accused and the school management.
After five years of investigation and trials, the court delivered verdict on Monday. During the investigation, it was also revealed that the accused behaved in a similar manner with several other students.
