Mahesh Babu and Anushka Shetty bags top honours at Dadasaheb Phalke Awards 2019

Hyderabad: Dadasaheb Phalke Awards South 2019 function, held in Hyderabad on Thursday, witnessed eminent personalities, actors, and technicians from Tollywood attending the event. At Dadasaneh Phalke Awards 2019 the top two acting spot was occupied by Mahesh Babu and Anushka Shetty, for their performance in Bharath Ane Nenu and Bhaagmathie respectively. Mahesh’s wife Namrata Shirodkar attended the event representing him.

As Mohan Babu grabbed the ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’, his daughter Lakshmi Manchu was present on stage cheering him on. Apart from them, many other talented artists and technicians were also felicitated at the prestigious ceremony. The other winners include Sukumar, who won the Best Director for Rangasthalam, Rathnavelu who won Best Cinematographer and Devi Sri Prasad for Best Music Director. Additional acting awards included Outstanding Performance of the Year Male and Female won by Yash (KGF: Chapter 1) and Keerthy Suresh (Mahanati) respectively. Payal Rajput grabbed the Best Debut Award while Jagapathi Babu won the Best Actor in a Negative Role.
