Man gets 2 years jail for stalking a minor

Hyderabad: The 9th additional district court sentenced twenty-year-old Madyala Shiva to two-year rigorous imprisonment and imposed a fine of Rs 1,500 for stalking and harassing a minor girl.

On receiving a complaint from the victim, the Saroornagar police registered a case on September 3, 2020. In the complaint, she said that Shiva and his friend, a juvenile, had been following her and harassing her in the name of love, while she was going to school and returning home for the last five years. She said that Shiva made a phone call on October 3, 2015, and abused her in filthy language and also threatened her.

Following the complaint, Shiva has been arrested and sent to remand. The case against Shiva’s friend, a juvenile, is pending in the court.
