Man gets 2 years of imprisonment for sexually assaulting a minor

Hyderabad: A Hyderabad court sentenced a man to two years rigorous imprisonment in a six-year-old case of outraging the modesty of a minor girl. In a judgement issued on December 23, the court also slapped the accused, Palla Srinivas Reddy, a fine of Rs 1,000.

The facts of the case are that on July 8, 2013, the victim, who was then a class V student, was on her way to school. Srinivas Reddy, a 35-year-old driver from Rajanna Bowli, took advantage of this situation, started to misbehave, and outraged the victim’s dignity and modesty.

Based on a complaint registered by the victim’s family, police arrested Srinivas Reddy and sent him to judicial custody. After six years of investigation, the police was able to prove the crime and successfully get a guilty verdict.
