Man gets three-years jail for kidnap, rape of minor

Hyderabad: The Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court in L.B Nagar on Monday sentenced a man to three years rigorous imprisonment for the kidnap and rape of a minor girl in June 2014. The court has also ordered the accused, Anil, a resident of Hafeezpet, to pay a fine of Rs 10,000.

According to the police, the 18-year-old girl went missing after she left for her college on June 23, 2014. Her family, who reside in Borabanda, had lodged a missing complaint with the Sanathnagar police, following which investigations were launched which led to the arrest of the 28-year-old construction worker Anil. A case was subsequently booked against him under Sections 366(A) (kidnapping), 420 (cheating), 201 (causing disappearance of evidence of offence), and 376(2) (rape).
