Man injured in violent group clashes in Vijayawada dies

On Saturday, two groups - one led by Kota Sandeep and another led by Manikanta - got into a brutal fight. Videos of the clash show young men attacking each other with rods, sticks, and knives in broad daylight. In another video, one of the youths carrying a sickle and wearing a bloodied shirt can be seen walking away from the fight.
The deputy commissioner of police (law and order), V. Harshavardhan Raju, said K. Sandeep was injured during the fight and died on Sunday while availing treatment at a hospital. The clash was over a property dispute between Sandeep and Manikanta, he added.
Vijayawada city has not witnessed such violent clashes in the past four years. The police have registered a case and an investigation is on to arrest all those who were involved in the fight, the cop said.
The police have formed six special teams to arrest the accused persons. They suspect that over 30 people, including a few students, may have been involved in the clash.
