Man sets himself ablaze in Chintal

Hyderabad: A mentally unsound man allegedly set himself ablaze at Chintal of Hyderabad on Friday noon. The man engulfed with flames all over his body came running out and stood on the main road, scaring people. At the sight of the man in flames, people ran away, while some stood still capturing him on their mobile phones.

The man has been identified as Bhuvan Reddy, from Sudarshan Reddy nagar of Chintal. He is suspected to have taken the step due to family disputes.

A few persons with gunny bags and blankets rushed to him and doused the fire. He was later shifted to the hospital. Jeedimetla police under whose jurisdiction the place falls, also started an inquiry into the incident. Further details are awaited.
