Manushi Chillar to debut against Akshay

Hyderabad: Akshay Kumar is prepping up to act in a period film that revolves around the charismatic folk hero, Prithviraj Chauhan, which is likely to mark the Bollywood debut of Miss World Manushi Chillar.

Being directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi, Prithviraj will see Chhillar portraying the role of Sanyogita, aka Sanjukta, or Samyukta. Dwivedi stated that it was after a long screen-test that Chhillar was picked for the role.

"Manushi had attended the screening tests and a couple of auditions before we decided to cast her. She appeared incredibly beautiful and confident. We wanted a fresh face for the role and Manushi is the one", Dwivedi said after performing puja.

The Miss World expressed her excitement on bagging the offer. She is even more excited as she is to act opposite an actor like Akshay Kumar in her first movie.

"It is a huge responsibility to play princess Sanyogita. She was a powerful personality and she stood up for what was right and took the most important decisions of her life by herself. Her life is an extremely important chapter in Indian history and I will try my best to live the character", Chhillar said.

Akshay Kumar took to his Twitter handle to share the news along with a video in which the cast and crew are seen participating in the puja.
