Masked robbers decamp with ATM machine at Sangrareddy

Hyderabad: Two unidentified masked men decamped with an ATM machine in Sangareddy district of Telangana on Sunday.

The incident happened at Rudraram village near Patancheru on the outskirts of Hyderabad.

According to police, the two masked men barged into Indicash ATM booth at Rudraram village in the wee hours of Sunday. They uprooted the machine, loaded it into the van and sped away. One of the customers who visited the booth on Sunday morning alerted the police.

Police found that the machine had around Rs 3 lakh cash in it. After scanning CCTV footage, police said that incident occurred between 2 to 2.30 am on Sunday.

Sangareddy police have formed special teams to trace the vehicle and nab the offenders. Police suspect that interstate gang might be involved in the crime. Police said the gang might have crossed into neighboring Karnataka with the machine.

Police have also alerted their counterparts in the bordering districts of Karnataka for clues on the van and the machine.
