Massive fire errupts at Visakha Solvents Ltd in Vizag

Visakhapatnam: In yet another industrial accident at Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City(JNPC) at Parawada in Vizag city, some workers of Ramky CETP Solvents pharma company sustained burns in a series of blasts that occurred in the company on Monday night.
District Collector V Vinay Chand told newsmen that at the time of the blasts in the company, very few people were in the company. The injured were shifted to a private hospital in Vizag city and so far no casualties in the incident.
The CITU leaders said that the incident took place around 10. 30 pm. The flames may engulf to nearby pharma companies as there were around 80 pharma companies in the JNPC.
The workers heard the deafening blast sound. Smoke and fire engulfed in the company and workers of other pharma companies ran out of the premises with panic.
Though the exact reasons for the incident are yet ascertain, the blasts had triggered panic among the workers in JNPC and people in Parawada area.
The tanks in the company were caught the fire. The huge blast sounds have created a tense situation.
The Revenue Divisional Officer, Kishore said that so far six people suffered injuries in the incident and probably no casualties in the incident.
The fire tenders rushed the spot to douse the flames.
