The school has classes 1 to 6 and there are 180 girl students in the school. On being asked the reason behind this strange act, the students gave various reasons such as being untidy and lack of discipline.
One of the students said - "I don't like this haircut. I love my hair. But my teacher had chopped it off due to the water scarcity."
Another Girl studying in the 6th Standard said - "My teacher chopped my hair off because she thinks I'm untidy and indisciplined." The students were clearly unhappy with this act done by the teachers of the Gurukul at Medak.
Talking about the same in an interview with one of the Child Activist's Mr. Achutya Rao, He said - "This is completely unacceptable. They are Innocent Kids. That doesn't mean the teachers get to do anything of their will with them.
There is something called Consent. The Particular Child's consent and the Parent's Consent, which should definitely be of Primary importance. You can give this act any name. May it be a Tradition that is been followed or Discipline, The Child's consent and views should be considered above all.
May it be the Warden, the teacher or the Principal. No one gets to decides for the Child. The Child's Parent and the Child do", said Mr. Achutya Rao.
