Hyderabad: With the date of Bhumi Pujan for Ayodhya Ram Mandir construction approaching fast, both the social media and mainstream media are flooded with a lot of information regarding the event. One such news about placing a 'time capsule' under the Ram Mandir Foundation is being reported by several media houses extensively.

This news was reported by major media houses like Times of India, Indian Express, India Today, One India, First Post, India TV, Economic Times, and many others. Interestingly, all these channels reported about the 'time capsule' based on the statement given by Kameshwar Chupal, Member of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust. The same was reported by @ANI

Upon searching for keywords, NewsMeter came across an official statement by Champat Rai, General Secretary of Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, who denied the news and said, "Some news items are being circulated which suggest that a time capsule will be placed beneath the temple construction site in Ayodhya. Any such news is fake & should not be believed."

Official Twitter handle of the Trust @ShriramTeerth released a video statement of Champat Rai, clarifying the issue on the same. He urged everyone not to believe in any such rumours.



After the official statement from the trust, several media houses like Times of India, Times now news, Republic world revised their reports and published them with updated information.

Time capsules are repositories of information meant to preserve the history of a particular event, period, or country. These 'time capsules' usually are buried underground and believed to be opened by people of future generations. They act as channels to pass on information to the next generations.
