Medical check-ups for Rachakonda police personnel

Hyderabad: Being at the forefront in containing the spread of Covid-19 in the city, the police force is always at the risk of getting infected by the virus. To ensure their safety, the Rachakonda police has organised a medical camp for them.

After a police officer from Medipally was tested positive for coronavirus on May 1, the police officials felt the need to get others tested for the virus. Accordingly, medical tests were conducted on police personnel at 48 check posts and 19 police stations. Dr Sarita, unit doctor, Dr Avinash Raddy and Dr Srinivas Rao supervised the medical tests.

After the tests, the police were given Vitamin C and Zinc tablets in order to increase the immunity of the officers. In addition, considering the recommendations of AYUSH, Chyawanprash has been given to all the police personnel, including SPOs.

According to Mahesh Bhagwat, Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda, “So far, 1,575 police personnel in various police stations and special wings like SOT, IT Cell and those on the field have been covered by the team of doctors. Of them, 40 personnel have been sent for Covid testing and check up.”
