Meerpet police arrest  man with 43 stolen laptops worth Rs. 6.5 lakh

Hyderabad: Personnel at the Meerpet Police department nabbed the 34 year old Kodepaka Ravi Kiran for attempting to dispose 43 stolen laptops on Friday, 17th July.

The police was able to recover laptops worth 6.5 lakh rupees, including those of Dell, Apple, Sony, among others.

A resident of Rangareddy, the accused works as an electrician in the area and is allegedly a notorious criminal. The police have stated that Mr Ravi has previously been arrested in the Suryapet district, and was had committed 18 house thefts post his release from jail.

The laptops were stolen from Meerpet, LB Nagar, Pahadi Shareef, Vanasthalipuram, and Saroor Nagar of the Rachakonda commissionarate. The accused entered houses using the keys hidden in shoe racks, window stands, and doors.

He has been charged under section 380 of the Indian Penal Code for the theft of 18 laptops.

When he was previously arrested at the Subedari Police Station and Kodada Town Police Station, he was charged with section 457, 380, and 454 of the IPC.

He was arrested on the afternoon of July 17th under the supervision of Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Sunpreet Singh.
