Miyapur Asst Sub-Inspector dies of COVID while undergoing treatment

Hyderabad: An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of police deputed to Miyapur police station, Cyberabad commissionerate in the city, died of Covid-19. V. Vishwanatham, 57, breathed his last on Wednesday night, after battling with Covid for close to three weeks. He is survived by wife and three sons.
According to the Miyapur police, Vishwanatham tested positive for Covid on August 18 while performing duties and was admitted to Udbhava Hospital at Miyapur. He died while undergoing treatment.
Hailing from Jarasangam in Sangareddy district, Vishwanatham joined the police force in November 1985 as a police constable and worked at different police stations in the erstwhile Medak district.
In 2010, he was promoted as a head constable and moved to the Cyberabad Commissionerate. While working at Miyapur police station, he was promoted as ASI in 2018. Since January 2018, he had been working in Miyapur police station.
