MLA Seethakka visits Bhadrachalam hospital demands free treatment to poor

Bhadradri Kothagudem: The MLA of Mulugu constituency, Dansari Anasuya (also known as Seethakka), visited the Bhadrachalam area hospital, along with other Congress leaders, on Wednesday, and demanded that the Chief Minister of Telangana include treatment for COVID-19 under the stateā€™s Aarogyasri health scheme. She demanded an increase in the number of tests and free sanitisers and masks for the poor.

ā€œThe COVID pandemic was initially limited to cities and urban areas. Now, even the rural areas have come under its grip. The problem of COVID is now a problem for every household. Hence the Congress, since the beginning, has demanded the inclusion of the treatment for COVID-19 under Aarogyasri but the TRS Government has put our demand aside. The government has also been doing fewer tests compared to Andhra Pradesh,ā€ she said. ā€œWhen questioned the government claimed that the number of cases has reduced which is not true. The number of cases is on the rise,ā€ Seethakka added.

Speaking about the situation in Bhadrachalam, Seethakka said, ā€œBhadrachalam, being an agency area along the borders, the patients come here from tribal belts of Chhattisgarh and AP as they do not have medical facilities in their areas. This Bhadrachalam area hospital is the only option for the marginalised but even then the government has not yet increased the number of hospital staff. We have sent a report about the vacant seats to the government but it has been ignored.ā€

She alleged that the state government is not caring about the health condition of the people and that the Congress will bring this matter to the notice of the Assembly.
