This scheme will provide farmers with a minimum pension of Rs. 3,000 per month. The project, however, applies to farmers who have attained 60 years of age.
With an outlay of Rs. 10,774 crore for the next three years, the Kisan Maan Dhan Yojna will help secure the lives of as many as five crore small and marginal farmers in India.
Apart from this, small and marginal farmers between 18 to 40 years of age can also apply for this scheme. The monthly contribution of the farmers can be made via the instalments of PM-KISAN or through CSCs.
Besides launching this scheme, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also inaugurate 400 Eklavya Model Residential Schools on occasion. The aim of initiating these schools is to provide quality education to ST students in tribal-dominated areas.
