Moneylender tonsures man's head for not repaying loan in West Godavari

West Godavari: A moneylender allegedly tonsured the head of a 23- year-old man for failing to repay loans at Jangareddigudem in West Godavari district on Sunday night.
The victim had been identified as A Abhilash, a resident of Jangareddigudem.
Locals allege that Abhilash had taken a loan of Rs 30,000 from Y Vijay Babu, which he had not paid back.
Vijay Babu had been asking Abhilash to repay the loan with interest. However, Abhilash sought some more time for the repayment.
Angry over the delay in payment, Vijay Babu and his associates went to Abhilash's house on Sunday and took him to a nearby building.
The trio allegedly tied Abhilash and tonsured his head.
Based on the complaint from the victim, police registered a case against four persons. The investigation is on to nab the accused.
It may be recalled that a month ago Big Boss fame (Telugu) N Nutan Naidu and seven others were arrested for torturing and tonsuring a Dalit youth in Vizag city.
In July this year, a sub-inspector and a constable were suspended in Andhra Pradesh’s East Godavari district for allegedly beating up and tonsuring a Dalit youth in the police station for allegedly confronting a local YSR Congress Party leader.
