Hyderabad: In what may look like a political move, first time parliamentarian from Congress, Anumula Revanth Reddy asked 6 questions on ‘Malla Reddy Group of Institutions’.The questions revolved around the Human Resource Development of the chain of institutions, including queries regarding alleged discrepancies in the admission process.

It is worth to mention that Malkajgiri MP, who is also the Telangana Congress working president won by 6000 plus votes against TRS Minister Ch Malla Reddy’s son-in-law Marri Rajashekar Reddy in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections.

Marri Rajashekar Reddy wields control over the education group which was established by MLA Ch Malla Reddy.

Parliament records accessed by NewsMeter reveal that Revanth has asked six different questions about ‘Malla Reddy Group of Institutions’ in the parliament.

Official records reveal that All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) has approved 13 institutes of Malla Reddy Group in the state.

A parliament document accessed by NewsMeter reveal that Revanth inquired about the number of colleges/institutes run by of Malla Reddy Group of Institutions.

He asked whether the government is aware of alleged ‘fake admissions’ in their colleges. The MP also sought details about whether any action has been taken against the group. He also asked whether the government has received any complaints against the educational group.

In its reply, the central government said the institutes have an adequate number of teachers and infrastructure as per AICTE norms and guidelines.

“No complaint has been received against Malla Reddy Group of Institution regarding fake admission. However, one complaint was received by AICTE from one of the faculty members of Malla Reddy Engineering College & Management Sciences, Telangana regarding service/ salary matter. AICTE has taken appropriate action on the complaint”, said the government.
