Hyderabad: Tension prevailed at Janwada in Rangareddy district on the outskirts of Hyderabad after police arrested Malkajgiri MP and TPCC working president A. The two, along with some other Congress workers, were inspecting a land and minister K.T Rama Rao's farmhouse which they alleged he had encroached upon.

The Congress leaders alleged that KTR violated a government order and constructed the farmhouse, spread across 25.acres, illegally. Mr Revanth alleged that Chief Minister KCR and his son KTR violated the Center's guidelines and constructed their farmhouse on a road to Gandipet lake. They are violating the rules and amassing wealth since they are in power, he alleged. The leaders were detained and taken to RC Puram police station where Mr Revanth staged a protest blaming the high-handedness of the state government and misuse of the police.

It may be noted that a revenue official was recently suspended on charges of illegally favouring Mr Revanth and his brother Kondal Reddy in connection with transferring ownership rights of land at Gopanpally village. Mr Revanth and his brother are accused of producing fabricated documents to claim ownership of the land.
