Here’s how PM Narendra Modi reacted to his photo being called meme-worthy
By Newsmeter Network Published on 26 Dec 2019 9:02 AM GMTHyderabad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is known for his silence on various burning issues in the country. However, his reply to a Twitter user on December 26 has left netizens puzzled.
A Twitter handle named ‘Gappistan Radio’ had taken one of Prime minster Modi’s photos and commented, “This is becoming a meme.” In the photo, Modi is seen wearing sunglasses and looking at the sky, in an attempt to watch the solar eclipse. The handle was predicting that the particular picture was on its way to becoming a meme.
The annual solar eclipse, which began at 7.59 am on December 26, will be visible from parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Maharashtra, and Delhi.
Minutes after the user tweeted this, the Prime Minister’s official handle had responded saying, “Most welcome. Enjoy.” The PM’s unusual response has triggered conversations on the micro-blogging website.

Narendra Modi shared the photo in question from his official handle on the day of the solar eclipse, and tweeted, “Like many Indians, I was enthusiastic about #solareclipse2019. Unfortunately, I could not see the Sun due to cloud cover but I did catch glimpses of the eclipse in Kozhikode and other parts on the live stream. Also enriched my knowledge on the subject by interacting with experts (sic).”

Several handles celebrated the PM’s reply to Gappistan Radio, while many others tweeted, questioning how he has the time to comment on such trivial matters. A few others had already begun to make memes with the same picture, thus fulfilling the prediction.
A Twitter user Aashish Chandorkar said, “Congratulations to the only non-political, non-governmental, non-media human being to have received a response from DJT (Donald Trump) and Modi Ji.” To this, Gappistan Radio sarcastically replied that it is going to go into his LinkedIn profile.
Another user cleverly pointed out how the official handle of the American President Donald Trump had also replied to Gappistan Radio.
