Andhra Shocker: Two boys killed in Guntur; 19YO held for sodomy, murder, necrophilia

Guntur :A 19-year-old youth was arrested for allegedly sodomizing two minor boys before hacking them to death in the Guntur district. The incident occurred came to light after the accused Mellampudi Gopi, a resident of the Mellampudi village, surrendered before the Village Revenue Officer (VRO). The victims were aged 6 and 8 years old.

Guntur Urban SP RN Ammi Reddy said on March 14 a complaint regarding a missing six-year-old boy was received at Tadepalli police station and two days later his body was found in the bushes at guava orchard. The boy's limbs were broken and postmortem revealed that he was sodomized.

Soon after the body was found, the boy's family suspected that Gopi might have committed the crime. Following that, Gopi surrendered before the VRO.

Later, interrogation revealed that Gopi kidnapped the six-year-old boy and sodomized him. As the boy was screaming, Gopi thrashed the boy resulting in his hands and legs getting fractured. Later, Gopi killed the boy by strangulating him and allegedly committed the act of necrophilia before dumping the body in the bushes.

Reddy said that Gopi also confessed to murdering an eight-year-old boy after sodomizing him last month. The incident took place on February 11, when Gopi lured the boy by offering him chocolate. The boy's body was dumped into the Buckingham Canal which was retrieved by the police after some days.

Police had the inkling that both cases were connected and gathered forensic evidence. Police formed teams to hunt down Gopi. Sensing trouble, Gopi later surrendered.

A case of murder and under relevant sections of the POCSO Act have been registered against the accused at the Tadepalli police station.
