Visakhapatnam: Are you bored this weekend? Confused about where to go? No worries! We have some amazing getaway spots for this weekend in Visakhapatnam. Here is the list:

1. Katiki waterfalls

Located about 90 km from Visakhapatnam, Katiki waterfalls is one of the best places to visit in the Vizag agency area. The Gosthani river is the main source of this waterfall. This is one of the must-visit waterfalls that will also give people a chance to trek and go on adventurous hikes. It's about a km from Borra caves. Jeeps will be available to Katiki waterfalls for Rs. 100-200 as the roads are muddy. From Gatevalsa, take a trek to the top, splash in the water, and taste the yummy bamboo chicken (local food).


2. Vanjangi

Take an adventurous trek to Vanjangi to see the beautiful city of Vizag from 3,400 feet above sea level. Located near Paderu in the Eastern Ghats of Andhra Pradesh in Visakhapatnam agency, it is a must-visit place for all trekkers. The area is 101 km (a three-hour drive) from Vizag so start by 2 a.m if you want to see the splendid sunrise. After reaching Paderu, Vanjangi is around 6 km away. Park the vehicles at the starting point and trek for about 7 km to the hilltop. You can also start from Aaraku, which is 40 km from Araku-Paderu. The trek to the hilltop is quite adventurous and tough but you will enjoy the final view.


3. Lambasingi

Lambasingi, called the Kashmir of Andhra Pradesh, is a small village in Chintapalli mandal. Located around 1,000 metres above sea level, it records the lowest temperatures in the state. The village is located around 107 km from Visakhapatnam and is the best weekend getaway spot for families. People have a plethora of accommodation facilities to choose from, from beautiful resorts to hotels to tents. When there, you can also go visit the strawberry farms and pick fresh, juicy strawberries.


4. Jindhagada peak

This is the highest peak in the Eastern Ghats at a height of 1,690 meters. It is located in Araku valley and is cut by four major rivers of India – Mahanadi, Godavari, Krishna, and Kaveri. This is one of the must-visit places for trekkers who want to explore the highest peak. With a minimum four-five hour steep trek uphill, take along sufficient drinking water, food, and a first aid kit.


5. Kothapalli waterfalls

The Kothapalli waterfalls are near the southeastern coast of India at Gangaraju Madugula near Paderu in the Visakhapatnam district of Andhra Pradesh. Located 120 km from Vizag, it is a must-visit place. The waterfalls were discovered a few years ago by a village boy, Vanthala Abbi. There are temporary changing rooms for those who want to get into the water. The place is famous for its bamboo chicken and kebabs prepared by the local tribals.


6. Duduma waterfalls

Duduma waterfalls are located along the Andhra Pradesh-Odisha border and is the best place for those looking for some peace and calm. It is about 92 km from Koraput and about 177 km from Visakhapatnam. The best time to visit the falls is in the early morning or before it gets dark so as to enjoy the majestic view. You can take a boat ride with a guide who will take you close to the waterfalls. There are also accommodation facilities if you want to spend the day there.


7. Devarapalli waterfalls

Famously known as 'Bahubali waterfalls', it is located in a village called Devarapalli which is 84 km from Vizag. Take a two-hour drive from the city and the waterfalls will make your weekend the best. Drive to the village and trek for 40 minutes to reach the destination.
