The chief of the state administration held a meeting on 21 August to discuss the special vaccination drive that will begin from 23 August and cover 4,846 colonies, slums, and other areas of the GHMC, and 360 localities in the cantonment zone.
"The main objective of the special vaccination drive is to make Hyderabad a 100 per cent vaccinated city. A total of 175 mobile vaccine vehicles will be used for the drive of which 150 will cover the GHMC area and 25 the cantonment areas. Each vehicle will have two vaccinators and a data entry operator," the chief secretary said.
Each colony will be covered by mobilization teams who will go door-to-door to identify unvaccinated persons in advance. The team will inform people about the date and time for the vaccination. A sticker will be pasted on the doors of the vaccinated households.
Adequate vaccine has been made available to cover all households in the GHMC and cantonment areas. After completion of the drive, a ceremony will be held in colonies to release the banner in the presence of colony office-bearers and encourage and motivate colonies and slums to go for 100% vaccination, officials said.
The GHMC commissioner will issue an appreciation certificate to Resident Welfare Associations (RWAS) who successfully complete 100% vaccination. The chief secretary has appealed to the people to make use of the opportunity to get vaccinated in this special drive.
