Vjayawada: It looks like any airplane on the outside, but once you walk into 'Viman' you will find yourself inside a restaurant. Located near the Gannavaram airport here, Viman is the first airplane-themed restaurant in south India.

For those who still dream of taking a flight, Viman restaurant will make your dreams come true. The airplane located on the outskirts of Vijayawada near Gudavalli village has become a popular attraction now. According to sources, a Vijayawada-based businessman brought the old airplane which was no longer in use from Delhi to Vijayawada. It has been refurbished into a modern restaurant. There is reportedly a similar restaurant called Runway 1 is in Delhi.

Entering the airplane restaurant and walking through its steps feels like boarding a flight. The original interior of the plane has been kept intact to give patrons an authentic experience. The cabin of the airplane has also been left undisturbed so that customers can view the main section of the plane and take photos. The staff is dressed in the attire of a flight crew as they welcome visitors and serve them food.

"I have never boarded a flight nor have I seen an airplane up close. Having food at the Viman restaurant has been a good experience. Though I'm not flying, it is a nice feeling to sit in an airplane and eat,", said Swarna Latha, a Vijayawada resident. While Viman has been attracting the people of Vijayawada with its unique features, its food has also become the talk of the town. From kebabs and starters to biryani, everything served in Viman is said to be delicious.
