Due to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, releases of a lot of films were stalled. On the occasion of Deepavali, makers of these films are announcing the release dates.

OTT and theatrical, here are the South Indian films up for release this fortnight

Hyderabad: Due to the pandemic and the subsequent lockdown, releases of a lot of films of different languages were stalled. On the occasion of Deepavali as things get back to normal, makers of these films are announcing the release dates. Be it a theatrical or an OTT premiere, a number of films are lined up for release in the first two weeks of November. Have a look.

Jai Bhim (multilingual - Amazon Prime): Starring Suriya in the lead role, the film is a courtroom drama that is based on a true incident. The T.J. Gnanavel directorial also stars Rajisha Vijayan, Prakash Raj, Rao Ramesh and Lijomol Jose, among others in the lead roles. Suriya, for the first time, played the role of a lawyer. The movie focuses on caste-based discrimination and police brutality against people from the Scheduled Castes.

Annaatthe (bilingual - theatrical release): Starring Superstar Rajinikanth, Nayanthara, and Keerthy Suresh in lead roles, the film is directed by Shiva and is slated for release in Tamil and Telugu on November 4, on the occasion of Deepavali. The film has Meena, Khushboo, Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, among others. Produced by Sun Pictures, Annaatthe is touted to be a rural drama. The songs and trailer from the film are already a hit.

Manchi Rojulochaie (Telugu – theatrical release): Directed by Maruthi, this film has Santosh Shobhan and Mehreen Pirzada in lead roles. The film is a rom-com and there is a lot of hype around it. Jointly produced by V Celluloid and SKN, the film is releasing on November 4. The supporting cast includes Ajay Ghosh, Vennela Kishore, Harsha Chemudu, Saptagiri, Satyam Rajesh, Srinivas Reddy, Sudarshan and Praveen, among others.

Raja Vikramarka (Telugu– theatrical release): This film has Karthikeya Gummakonda in the lead role. The trailer of the film was released on Monday and received a positive response from audiences. Directed by Sri Saripalli, the film is scheduled to hit the big screens on November 12. Bankrolled by Rama Reddy, the film has been edited by Jesvin Prabu, music by Prashanth R Vihari, and cinematography by PC Mouli.

Enemy (bilingual -theatrical release): Vishal and Arya are playing lead roles in this action entertainer. Directed by Anand Shankar, the film has Mrinalini Ravi, Mamta Mohandas, Prakash Raj, and others in important roles. Vishal will be seen playing a cop while Arya plays the criminal.

MGR Magan (Tamil - Disney + Hotstar): Sasikumar, Satyaraj and Samuthirakhani are playing the lead roles in this film which has Mrinalini Ravi, Singam Puli and Saranya Ponvannan in key roles. This film is a rural drama that is directly premiering on Disney + Hotstar on November 4. The film is written and directed by Ponram.

Kurup (Multilingual - theatrical release): Kurup is undoubtedly one of the much-awaited films. Starring Dulquer Salmaan and Shobhita Dhulipala in lead roles, the film is releasing in multiple languages on November 12. The film is directed by Srinath Rajendran and produced by Dulquer Salmaan's home banner, Wayfarer films, and co-produced by M-star. The film is made based on the life of a most-wanted criminal from Kerala, Sukumar Kurup.

Pushpaka Vimanan (Telugu – theatrical release): There's a lot of hype around this film. With Anand Deverakonda and Saanve Megghana playing lead roles, the film is directed by Damodara and is bankrolled by Vijay Deverakonda. The trailer of the film was out a couple of days ago and has garnered a lot of interest. This film will also hit screens on November 12.

Kanakam Kamini Kalaham (Malayalam – Disney + Hotstar): Nivin Pauly and Grace Antony's upcoming Malayalam film Kanakam Kaamini Kalaham will premiere on streaming platform Disney + Hotstar on November 12. Helmed by Android Kunjappan fame director Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval, it also features Sudheesh, Jaffer Idukki, Joy Mathew, Sivadasan Kannur and Vinay Forrt, among others.

Prema Poojyam (Kannada – theatrical release): Featuring actors Prem Kumar, Brinda Acharya and Aindrita Ray in pivotal roles, Premam Poojyam is set to release in theatres on November 12. The film is directed by Dr Raghavendra BS. Naveen Kumar has been roped in as the cinematographer while Raghavendra has composed the music.
