Proud moment: A police inspector salutes his DSP daughter at Tirupati

It was a proud moment for Inspector Y Syam Sundar, attached to the Police Training Centre, Chandragiri Kalyani Dam when he saw his daughter and DSP for Guntur district Y Jessy Prasanthi in full police uniform.
Syam Sundar met his daughter Prasanthi when she came to Tirupati to attend Police Duty Meet (IGNITE). The first thing the proud father did was to salute his daughter. Eyes filled with tears of joy as he met his daughter who he raised with all love and affection. Prasanthi is an engineering graduate and the 2018 batch of DSP.
DSP Jessy Prashanthi of 2018 batch cracked Andhra Pradesh Public Commission group 1 after she could not get through civil service examination. "My father wanted me to join the Indian Administrative Service, however I could not make it through the examination. Later I appeared for group 1 and was selected. Since my childhood my parents insisted that we serve the nation, my younger sister is an assistant professor at government Dental college in Andhra Pradesh", the DSP told NewsMeter. The family hails from Chittoor district

When his colleagues asked him how he felt, the happier Syam Sundar said that Prasanthi is a DSP rank officer and his senior. "I will salute her just like I would do to greet any other officer," he added.
DSP Prasanthi said her father has always been her inspiration and she will try to live up to his principles and dedication while discharging the duties. Police officers said that the relations do not matter when they are discharging their duties in uniform.
Another proud moment was witnessed in 2018 when a Father-daughter duo serving in the Telangana police came face-to-face. Former Deputy Commissioner of Police A.R. Umamaheswara Sarma picture of saluting his daughter officer Sindhu Sarma, who was then the Superintendent of Police of Jagtiyal district of Telangana made a memory.
Mr Sarma, before his retirement served as DCP in Malkajgiri area under Rachakonda police commissionerate in Hyderabad while his daughter Sindhu Sarma is an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer of 2014 batch.
The father-daughter duo came face to face while doing their duty at the public meeting of Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) at Kongara Kalan on the outskirts of Hyderabad in 2018.
