Early reports weren’t in favor of the makers, and Akkineni fans seemed a bit disappointed with Nagarjuna’s choice of stories as his recent films have failed to impress them.
But, Nagarjuna seems to be happy with the talk revolving around the movie. In recent press meets after the release of ‘Manmadhudu 2,’ Nagarjuna has been seen defending the movie calling it a ‘new-age movie.’
When reporters quizzed Nagarjuna about the mixed response to the movie, Nagarjuna answered, “I always love to evolve as an actor. ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is a ‘new-age’ drama and is entertaining. I hope to see a couple of movies made like this, it will then change the trend.”
It is good, that an actor like Nagarjuna is trying to influence and create a trend in cinema.
While mentioning a few classics in which his father appeared Nagarjuna said, “I want to try something new, rather than depending on the same success formula. Even my dad Akkineni Nageswar Rao Garu always believed in trying something new. That is why he had such a long-standing career.”
Some of Nagarjuna’s fans are not so happy with his choice of subject, however, some feel that he has the right tempo. But based on its entertainment, ‘Manmadhudu 2’ is running well in the theaters. So, all is well.
Directed by Rahul Ravindran, ‘Manmadhudu 2’ stars Rakul Preet in the lead role opposite Nagarjuna. Vennela Kishore, Lakshmi, Shanthi, Jhansi, and Rao Ramesh are also seen in pivotal roles.
