Nalgonda police book BJP MP Bandi Sanjay for violating lockdown orders

Hyderabad: Nalgonda district police have registered a case against BJP Telangana Unit president and Karimnagar MP Bandi Sanjay, for allegedly violating the lockdown orders. A case under section 188 of the IPC has been registered against the MP and other BJP leaders from the Nalgonda district unit at Peddavoora police station in the district.

Superintendent of Police Nalgonda AV Ranganath informed that the case has been registered for violating the lockdown orders and organizing a program without maintaining the mandatory physical distancing.

According to police, on Tuesday, Sanjay visited the Orange gardens at Peddavoora in the district, along with a big number of leaders and party workers from the district. He has also addressed the media after the visit.

As there was a big group at the event and they did not follow the physical distancing, police took suo-moto cognizance of the incident and registered a case against him and other party leaders and workers.

The State Government had in the orders issued on May 7, clearly stated prohibiting meetings of any kind, even involving politicians and gathering of people for any purposes in big numbers.
