ABVP protests against allegations of attack on JNU students

Hyderabad: Hyderabad Central University students representing the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) student union held protest against allegations of their outfit behind the JNU student attack. The students associated with ABVP , carrying flags, burnt an effigy of Leftist groups at the HCU campus on January 6th evening.

Talking to NewsMeter, HCU student and ABVP member Shravan B Raj said, "We are not at all part of this incident. On January 2, representatives of Students Federation of India (SFI) snapped servers and Wifi connection to prevent students from registering for the semester. There was a clash between the administration and students after which when the latter went to register their names, they were stopped by Left goons, who targeted all those who managed to register.

Another student associated with ABVP Akshya Dass added,'Videos flashed by the media, alleging that the hooligans were led by president of the JNU Students Union. They claimed that they were helping the students, if so why wear mask? It's the Leftists, who are responsible and we don't tolerate such incidents. There are cases of these goons beating up ABVP members after storming the campus armed with blunt weapons.”

Students from the HCU staged protests against violence in JNU campus. The students took out a late-night march in the university as soon as news broke out about the attack on JNU students on January 5. They marched across the campus, raising slogans against the terror being unleashed. They demanded the immediate arrest of all culprits and criticized Delhi police for failing to act.

On Monday night, SFI called for more protests when a small crowd gathered inside the HCU campus and raised slogans.
