83 lakh Telangana power consumers receive personal Sankranti greetings from Dy CM Bhatti

Hyderabad: In a move aimed at deepening direct engagement with electricity consumers, Telangana power distribution companies have reached nearly 8.3 million households and farmers through a unique, people-centric outreach initiative.
Acting on the directions of Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu, power officials are personally delivering greeting letters to consumers across the state.
Personal touch to power services
As part of the initiative, New Year and Sankranti greeting letters from the Deputy Chief Minister are being delivered to beneficiaries of the Gruha Jyothi scheme and agricultural power consumers.
Each letter is personally addressed, carrying the consumer’s name and service connection number, adding a personal touch rarely seen in public utility outreach.
DISCOM officials at doorsteps
The letters are being delivered door-to-door by officials of the
- Southern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGSPDCL) and
- Northern Power Distribution Company of Telangana Limited (TGNPDCL)
This on-ground effort is intended to bridge the gap between consumers and the electricity department, officials said.
Over 8.3 million beneficiaries covered
Under the programme:
- 52,82,498 Gruha Jyothi beneficiaries
- 30,03,813 agricultural power consumers are receiving the greeting letters
The total outreach has risen to nearly 83 lakh consumers across Telangana.
Towards transparent and efficient service
Power department officials said the initiative would help establish direct interaction with consumers, paving the way for greater transparency, quicker grievance redressal and improved service delivery in the future.
Positive response from consumers
Several recipients expressed happiness at receiving a personalised letter from the Deputy Chief Minister, stating that the gesture reflects the people-centric approach of the people’s government and its commitment to staying connected with citizens at the grassroots level.
